Special Weather Statement — Chuuk Coastal Waters
Severity: Moderate. Certainty: Observed.
Invest 92W has steadily organized today and is now subject to the
Joint Typhoon Warning Center's Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert.
Invest 92W is currently located near 8N155E or 180 miles east of
Chuuk. Invest 92W is drifting westward at less than 5 mph. Numerous
to widespread showers and isolated to scattered thunderstorms are
seen along the southern semicircle of 92W. Very heavy showers, flash
flooding, mud slides, and gusty winds will continue to impact Chuuk
over the next few days. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect until
Friday afternoon for Chuuk.

Additional rainfall amounts of 4 to 6 inches are possible through
the week. These rainfall amounts could result in flash flooding and
potential mudslides. Towards the latter half of the week, a monsoon

seas hazardous to small craft. Residents across Chuuk State should
monitor local forecasts and heed advice of emergency managers when
heavy rainfall occurs.
