ISLAND Beauty, a skincare brand that combines Korean ingredients with formulations tailored to Indian skin needs, has raised Rs 2.58 crore from AJ VC.
The proceeds will be used for product development, brand awareness and customer acquisition, the company said in a press release.
Founded in 2023 by Shirley Setia, Jinsoon Lee, Mayank Jain and Sakshi Jain, ISLAND Beauty focuses on barrier-focused skincare products designed for regular use.
The brand sources ingredients from South Korea and develops its formulations in India, with a focus on local weather conditions and consumers’ skincare needs.
ISLAND Beauty has developed its proprietary Core Barrier Matrix, which combines CBM-A Repair and CBM-B Defence. The formulation approach focuses on skin barrier repair and everyday defence.
Its current portfolio includes cleansers, toners, serums, moisturisers and lip care products. One of its offerings, the Dew Drop Barrier Repair Glow Serum, contains 50% Korean rice water and 5% niacinamide. The brand also offers a seven-day return policy, subject to its terms and conditions.
Over the next three years, ISLAND Beauty plans to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its market presence, while increasing awareness of barrier-focused skincare among consumers.
