Following a modest 7% growth in FY25, Aditya Birla Group-owned Bewakoof posted a strong 40% year-on-year growth in operating revenue in FY26. At the same time, the D2C fashion brand’s losses increased 19% during the fiscal year ended March 2026.
Bewakoof’s operating revenue rose 40.5% to Rs 243 crore in FY26 from Rs 173 crore in FY25, according to its financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).
Bewakoof is a lifestyle fashion brand that makes trendy products for contemporary India, including T-shirts, phone covers, bags and hoodies. Revenue from the sale of these products remained the company’s main source of income during the year.
On the cost side, the cost of materials consumed remained the largest expense for the company. It increased 45.7% to Rs 134 crore in FY26 from Rs 92 crore in FY25. Employee benefit expenses rose 7.7% to Rs 28 crore, while marketing expenses increased 26.5% to Rs 62 crore. Transportation and handling expenses, however, fell 17.1% to Rs 29 crore from Rs 35 crore.
Depreciation expenses jumped nearly three times to Rs 16.6 crore in FY26 from Rs 6 crore in FY25. Other expenses also increased 66.1% to Rs 66.4 crore from Rs 40 crore.
Overall, Bewakoof’s total expenses increased 35.5% to Rs 336 crore in FY26 from Rs 248 crore in the previous fiscal year.
As a result, the company’s loss widened 19.4% to Rs 87.4 crore in FY26 from Rs 73.2 crore in FY25, despite the strong growth in revenue.
However, some operating metrics improved. Bewakoof’s EBITDA loss narrowed slightly to Rs 59.8 crore from Rs 60.7 crore in FY25, while its EBITDA margin improved to -24.6% from -35.1%. The company’s return on capital employed (ROCE) also improved to -63.4% in FY26 from -96.6% in FY25.
At the unit level, Bewakoof spent Rs 1.38 to earn every Rs 1 of operating revenue in FY26, compared with Rs 1.43 in the previous year.
Its total current assets stood at Rs 91.1 crore at the end of FY26, up from Rs 84.8 crore in FY25. Cash and bank balances increased slightly to Rs 22 lakh from Rs 18 lakh.
The strong revenue growth came in a year that also marked a leadership transition for Bewakoof.
Co-founder Prabhkiran Singh stepped down in February 2026 after 14 years with the company, a month before the end of FY26. Singh was therefore with the company for most of the fiscal year in which Bewakoof recorded 40% revenue growth.
The exit came three years after Aditya Birla Digital Fashion Ventures (ABDFVL) acquired a majority stake in Bewakoof in February 2023. ABDFVL is part of TMRW, the Aditya Birla Group’s digital-first fashion and lifestyle venture.
