## extract

Special Weather Statement — Tanana Flats; Eielson AFB and Salcha; Goldstream Valley and Nenana Hills; Chatanika River Valley; Two Rivers; Fairbanks Metro Area; Nenana; Northern Denali Borough; Southern Denali Borough
Severity: Moderate. Certainty: Observed.
A low in the Gulf of Alaska will will bring a front to the Alaska
Range and Central Interior Tuesday and Wednesday. There is
uncertainty with the exact strength and placement of this front
and we are currently expecting around 3 to 6 inches of snow from
the Western Alaska Range to Fairbanks. However, there is a 30%
chance for snow accumulations exceeding 6 inches in this area.
Currently, the greatest likelihood of this occurring is towards
Eielson AFB and areas east, where Winter Storm Watches are in
effect. If the front is a bit farther to the west, this chance
increases dramatically in/around Fairbanks.

There may end up being a west to east gradient where Eielson gets
6 inches or more of snow, and Fairbanks south/west only gets a
couple of inches. We will be monitoring this storm very closely
and will have more information as the details become clearer.
