Among the startups, Alma is building AI native personal computing infrastructure, while August AI is developing AI powered clinical intelligence for primary care. Ditto is working on an AI dating matchmaker inside iMessage, while GameStock is building a social and competitive layer for financial markets.

The cohort also includes founders with experience at companies such as Google, Airbnb, Microsoft Research, Sarvam AI and Reducto. Kello cofounder Mona Gandhi was Airbnb’s first female engineer, while Reinforce Labs founder Anish Das Sarma previously led AI and machine learning teams as a Director at Google.
Peak XV said the latest Surge cohort reflects a shift towards AI becoming the underlying architecture of products, alongside startups rebuilding familiar consumer experiences and applying technology to physical infrastructure.
Surge provides seed stage startups with up to $5 million in funding along with support across hiring, product, engineering, go to market, marketing, communications, policy and global expansion.
Since its launch in 2019, Surge has backed more than 180 startups across more than 18 nationalities. Its top 10 companies generate more than $1 billion in annual revenue, according to Peak XV.
