Recently listed logistics company LEAP India’s net profit jumped 30% to ₹24.7 Cr in the first quarter (Q1) of the fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27) from ₹19 Cr in the year-ago period. Sequentially, the company’s profit dipped 8.5% from ₹27 Cr. Operating revenue for the quarter increased 19% to ₹203.4 Cr from ₹170.8 Cr in Q1 FY26. On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, the company’s top line remained largely flat compared with ₹203.5 Cr in Q4 FY26. The company attributed the growth in top line to broad-based growth across its core pallet, container and material-handling equipment (MHE) pooling businesses. Including other income of ₹10 Cr, total income for the period stood at ₹213.4 Cr. Meanwhile, expenses rose 17% YoY to ₹180.5 Cr. The company’s total tax expense for the quarter stood at ₹8.3 Cr. In a statement, the company said that its EBITDA improved 21% YoY to ₹114.1 Cr, while EBITDA margin zoomed 108 bps YoY to 53.5%. Founded in 2013 by Sunu Mathew, LEAP India provides supply chain solutions spanning equipment pooling, inventory management, transportation, and repair and maintenance. It serves customers across sectors such as FMCG, beverages, ecommerce, automotive and retail. Shares of the company made a bumper debut on the bourses in mid-August, listing at a premium of about 4.4% to the issue price of ₹159. The stock was listed at ₹166 on the BSE and ₹165.90 on the NSE. LEAP India’s public issue comprised a fresh issue of shares worth up to ₹480 Cr and an offer for sale (OFS) worth up to ₹2,000 Cr. LEAP India’s Triple Revenue Engine Giving a segment-wise split of the top line, LEAP India’s investor presentation noted that the core pallets vertical accounted for 60% of the company’s total income in Q1 FY27 at ₹127,3 Cr, up 18% YoY. Containers contributed ₹41.3 Cr, or 19%, to the total income during the quarter, up 13% YoY. MHE pooling added another 16%, or ₹34.8 Cr, to the total top line, up 29% YoY. Businesses clubbed under the “others” segment also brought in ₹10 Cr in the quarter under review. On the operational front, LEAP's owned and managed asset base, across pallets, containers and MHE pooling, grew 9% to nearly 1.5 Cr in Q1 FY27 as against 1.4 Cr in the year ago period. Overall, the company added 10 Lakh pallets, 20 Lakh containers and 1,467 MHE pooling assets in the quarter ended June 2026. With this, the number of pallets stood at 92 Lakhs, containers at 57 Lakhs and MHE pooled assets at 4,532. Meanwhile, pallet utilisation rate improved to 89.2% in the quarter under review versus 88.6% in Q1 FY26. However, container utilisation rate fell marginally to 72.9% (compared to 73.2% in Q1 FY26) and MHE value utilisation rate declined to 80.9% in Q1 FY27 as against 82.9% in the year ago quarter. In its investor presentation, the company also said that it added 100 new customers during the quarter, taking its total client base to 1,000+. It also managed to increase its touchpoints by more than 50% YoY to 10,500 in Q1 FY27, while fulfilment centres declined to 28 from 30 in the year ago period. “LEAP now serves 1,000+ customers across 10,500 touchpoints nationally, a network built on longstanding relationships with blue-chip manufacturers and retailers who depend on it for mission-critical supply-chain infrastructure. Churn among this base remains below 1% - a retention profile more typical of an annuity business than a logistics-asset provider,” said LEAP India in a statement. Going forward, the startup said that it plans to pursue four growth levers: expand “movement hire” to monetise assets across multiple supply chain movements; cross-sell pallets, containers and material-handling equipment to existing customers; extend its pooling model into new industries; and build a presence in the GCC. Under movement hire, the company transfers assets between its various entities within a network to improve utilisation and streamline operations. “International expansion represents our next strategic growth vector, with the GCC emerging as a natural extension of our asset-pooling platform given its higher palletisation, automation and movement-hire adoption. We have established (a) wholly owned subsidiary in the GCC in Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” said Mathew. Shares of LEAP India closed Monday’s trading session 0.47% lower at ₹167.70 on the BSE.
