## retained text

```
Anthropic reportedly plans to spend $750 billion on adding compute capacity in the coming years, including hundreds of billions in non-cancelable deals, as AI labs race to finance a huge infrastructure buildout. The figures, cited in a prospectus obtained by The Wall Street Journal, come as the company builds towards an IPO that could value it at $2 trillion.
As a result, rival frontier AI firm OpenAI is, according to Reuters, accelerating a financing round that could put its valuation at $1.4 trillion. The giant figures — alongside questions over whether the companies’ revenues can keep up — have fuelled fears the AI boom could turn to bust: Citadel’s Ken Griffin, for his part, said the market was “almost certainly” in a bubble.
