Japan's unemployment rate fell to 2.4% in July from 2.5%, below expectations of 2.5% and the lowest since July 2025.

The number of unemployed fell by 80,000 to 1.67M, while employment declined by 150,000 to 68.31M.

The jobs-to-applicants ratio held steady at 1.18, slightly below forecasts of 1.19.
