Aequs’ consolidated net loss widened to ₹52.4 Cr in Q2 FY27 from ₹20.6 Cr a year earlier, while operating revenue grew 45.3%.
Deepening losses in its consumer business weighed on profitability despite higher revenue across both its manufacturing segments.
Aerospace contributed nearly 86% of quarterly operating revenue, while the consumer business’ revenue rose 52% to ₹57.7 Cr.
Contract manufacturing company Aequs reported a consolidated net loss of ₹52.4 Cr in the September quarter of FY27, widening 154.4% from ₹20.6 Cr in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Operating revenue climbed 45.3% to ₹409.1 Cr from ₹281.6 Cr.
Sequentially, revenue increased 3.4% from ₹395.5 Cr, while net loss narrowed marginally from ₹53.2 Cr in Q1 FY27.
Including other income of ₹10.6 Cr, Aequs’ total income stood at ₹419.7 Cr during the quarter under review.
However, expenses excluding finance costs, depreciation, and amortisation rose faster than revenue, increasing 56.2% to ₹395.2 Cr from ₹253.1 Cr a year earlier.
EBITDA for the quarter under review fell 45% YoY to ₹24.5 Cr but rose 14% sequentially.
Constituting 85.9% to the topline, Aequs’ aerospace business remained its main revenue contributor, generating ₹351.4 Cr during the quarter, up 44.2% from ₹243.7 Cr a year earlier.
The company said that its aerospace order book reached $1.1 Bn, growing 9% QoQ. During said that the Safran A320 wheels agreement marks Aequs’ first serial-production contract
Meanwhile, consumer business revenue increased 52% to ₹57.7 Cr from ₹37.9 Cr.
Executive chairman and CEO Aravind Melligeri highlighted a slow down in Q2 volume ramp in the consumer business due to extended qualification timelines and supply chain constraints.
“We view this as a timing-related shift rather than a change in the underlying opportunity, with customer programs continuing to progress. Given these factors, we are recalibrating the path to consumer EBITDA breakeven, with our near-term focus on improving utilisation and translating installed capacity into profitable growth,” he added.
During the quarter, the company signed new long-term supply agreements, expanding its relationships to six Safran entities and broadening its manufacturing scope across critical aerospace components. It is currently leveraging Belagavi manufacturing and working on completion of its upcoming Hosur manufacturing ecosystem.
For this, the company’s promoter group recently infused ₹650 Cr by subscribing to preferential warrants to fuel its next phase of capacity expansion, bolster strategic JV investments and cater to certain working capital requirements.
“To support this next phase of growth, we continue to invest in our manufacturing capabilities. H1 FY27 capital expenditure stood at ₹159.7 Cr, and the ₹650 Cr promoter warrant is intended to support the next phase of expansion, including Hosur. Following quarter-end, new Safran agreements expanded our relationships to six entities. As these capabilities and partnerships grow, our focus remains on disciplined execution and stronger returns,” Melligeri added.
Shares of Aequs ended today’s trading session 2.74% higher at ₹242.10 apiece on the BSE.
