## extract

High Surf Advisory — Southern Seward Peninsula Coast
Severity: Minor. Certainty: Likely.
* WHAT...Water levels 3 to 4 feet above the highest high tide
line. The highest water levels will be Monday through Monday
night, before returning to more normal levels on Tuesday.

* WHERE...Southern Seward Peninsula Coast.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM AKDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Wave run-up will push water much higher than the
normal high tide line along the beach. Water may approach yards
and homes in Nome in the Belmont Subdivision. Portions of the
port area in Nome can expect standing water. Localized beach
erosion may occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Prolonged southerly winds of 15 to 30 mph
with gusts up to 45 mph are expected to continue through
tonight. The resulting higher seas and surf, coinciding with
high tide, will raise potential for rough surf and coastal
erosion. Large breaking waves of 3 to 5 feet are likely along
the coast with higher waves offshore. Following 1 to 2 inches of
rain already observed as of 9 AM Monday, daily rain chances
will continue through midweek with lighter amounts expected.
