## extract

Coastal Flood Warning — Northeast Suffolk
Severity: Severe. Certainty: Likely.
* WHAT...1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground
level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and
shoreline. The highest water levels are likely with the Sunday midday
high tides.

* WHERE...Northeast Suffolk County.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT Sunday.

* COASTAL IMPACTS...Minor to moderate flooding is expected in the
most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.
Expect 1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground
level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying
property including parking lots, parks, lawns and
homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will
experience shallow flooding.

* SHOREFRONT/BEACH IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 4 to 8 ft, along
with elevated water levels, will result in areas of dune erosion
with damage to a few waterfront structures. Splashover over
seawalls and overwashes where dune structures are compromised
may locally exacerbate flooding of roadways and vulnerable
structures behind protective dunes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional rounds of minor coastal
flooding are possible for the Sunday night into early next week
high tides.
