The surfaces you work in every day are faster and cleaner, the agents working alongside you are finally visible and measurable, and admins can set good defaults once
Over the last few releases, we’ve been making Jira ready for a world where people and agents work side by side – rebuilding the core views on a faster foundation, giving agents the context they need through Teamwork Graph, and letting them take real actions on your work.
Today we’re announcing the Jira Autumn release: new capabilities that make the parts of Jira you touch every day faster and clearer, give you a real read on the agents now working in your spaces, and help your org stay consistent as more teams (and agents) come on board. Everything here is rolling out now and will be generally available across Jira Cloud by November 2026.
Let’s look at some of the highlights.
Where your work comes together, faster and cleaner
The board and the work item are where you plan and track your work – one shows everything in flight, the other is the single piece of work itself in front of you. Both are quicker to load and easier to act on.
Your company-managed Boards just got a lot faster
Boards in company-managed software spaces now load 22% faster. Subtasks and epics are visible, you can save your own views, and you get real control over your columns – same workflows, data and permissions, on the same faster foundation as team-managed boards.
A work item that keeps you in the flow
A cleaner, more intuitive layout makes it easier to find what matters and update your work. Personalize key fields, navigate with ease, and use voice-to-text or Rovo to make updates. Plus, you can launch agents right from the work item, and its activity and outputs stay with the work – so your team and agents always have the context needed to keep work moving.
Meet a smarter way to create work
The new create experience suggests the fields that matter based on how you and your team work. Review and confirm every suggestion before they’re added, keeping you in control while helping each work item get ready to go with less effort.
See, manage, and measure your agents
Agents are doing real work in Jira. This release makes them something you can see in the flow of work, manage in one place, and measure like any other contribution.
Meet AMP: human-agent collaboration for a new era of teamwork
Great work has always been multiplayer – and now that includes agents. AMP – Atlassian’s Agentic Multiplayer Protocol – shapes how people and agents work together wherever work happens, with full visibility and governance. In Jira, every agent has its own identity and shows up where the work is: on the board, in list, on the work item. You see what agents are doing, review their work, and stay in charge. With AMP, agents have the shared context to understand, collaborate, and act – just like teammates.
One place to manage your agents
With agent space settings, see at a glance where agents are embedded or used, such as in automations and workflows. Add specific knowledge and instructions to give them the right context – so they provide more relevant, accurate help that fits the way your team works.
Finally, a real read on agent impact
A new agent usage dashboard lands in the space Reports tab and connects agent activity – across Rovo, coding tools, and third-party agents – to results you care about: cycle times, throughput, and shipped work. It’s set up by default with no config, and an agent-aware chart builder lets you cut your own views.
Consistency without the extra admin work
Teams moving fast is a good thing – until every space invents its own fields and statuses and your reports stop lining up. This release lets admins set sensible defaults once, so teams get autonomy and the org keeps clean data.
Custom templates for all paid plans
Custom templates for team-managed spaces are now available on Standard and Premium, not just Enterprise. Admins and team leads can take a space that already runs well – workflows, work types, views, even embedded agents – and turn it into a reusable template, so new teams start ready to work.
Guardrails for team-managed spaces
Space policies let admins decide what team-managed spaces can configure – allow only global fields, only global statuses, or both – and set one policy as the default for every new space that’s created. Teams still move at their own pace but the data underneath stays consistent.
One “In Progress”, everywhere
Teams can now discover and use standardized, global statuses right inside their team-managed spaces. They get the exact stages they need without inventing a sixth version of “In Progress”, for consistent reporting across spaces.
Teamwork in Jira should feel easier every day – whether you’re doing the work or enabling teams as admins. We’re removing friction from familiar surfaces, giving you visibility and control as you work alongside agents, and helping teams scale their ways of working with confidence. That’s the direction we’re building toward – and this release is another step.
