Flood Watch — Northwest Plateau; Chuska Mountains; Far Northwest Highlands; Northwest Highlands; West Central Plateau; West Central Mountains; West Central Highlands; Southwest Mountains; San Francisco River Valley; Tusas Mountains Including Chama; San Agustin Plains and Adjacent Lowlands
Severity: Severe. Certainty: Possible.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of western, central, and north-central New Mexico,
mainly along and west of the Continental Divide.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A potent Pacific storm system will continue to draw deep moisture
over western New Mexico generating widespread showers and
thunderstorms. Some of the fast moving thunderstorms will produce
locally heavy rain at rates over 1 inch per hour, and storms will
train in succession over some locations repeatedly increasing the
risk of flash flooding. Additional rain amounts for the remainder
of tonight through late Thursday night will generally range from
0.25 inch to 1 inch, with locally higher totals up to 3 inches.
- This includes Farmington, Gallup, Zuni Pueblo, and portions of
Navajo Nation.
