Sensex Today | Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates: As the Q2 earnings season gathers momentum, markets are likely to witness stock-specific action.
Synopsis
Sensex Today | Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates: The benchmark Nifty 50 fell 0.7% on Monday, while broader markets outperformed. Analysts expect Indian equities to remain cautious in the near term amid geopolitical tensions, volatile crude oil prices and uncertainty surrounding a resolution to the West Asia crisis. With the September-quarter earnings season gathering momentum, stock-specific action is likely to drive market movements.
Indian equities ended lower on Monday, reversing early gains as rising bond yields, persistent foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows and global uncertainties dampened investor sentiment.
The Nifty 50 fell 157 points, or 0.70%, to settle at 22,363. Technically, the index has immediate support at 22,300, a breach of which could trigger a further decline towards 22,100 or lower. On the upside, resistance is placed at 22,420 and 22,650, said Rupak De, senior technical analyst at LKP Securities.
