Quick Insights

Houthi attacks led to volatility; Brent crude settled slightly lower, WTI December fell, while the November contract jumped on thin volume.

Crude flows through the Middle East dropped sharply due to increased threats to commercial shipping, reducing average flows from 20M bbl/day to 8.5M bbl/day.

Easing of sanctions on Russian energy slightly increased supply, but the volume is small compared to global demand and US distillate inventories remain low, influencing mixed moves in product prices.
