## extract

Winter Storm Watch — Tanana Flats; Eielson AFB and Salcha; Goldstream Valley and Nenana Hills; Chatanika River Valley; Two Rivers; Fairbanks Metro Area; Nenana
Severity: Severe. Certainty: Possible.
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8
inches possible.

* WHERE...Fairbanks North Star Borough and Nenana.

* WHEN...From Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lighter snow is expected Monday with some
mixed precipitation possible. Heavier snow is possible Tuesday.
There is high uncertainty in the exact snow amounts and the
placement of the heavier snow. This detail will be crucial in
determining which spots get 6"+ and 3" or less. As of right now, we
are leaning towards the heaviest snow being towards Eielson with
lighter snow in Fairbanks and especially west of Fairbanks. A 30
mile change east or west will result in drastic differences. We
will continue to update as details become clearer.
