Sensex Today | Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates: A sustained move above this level could extend the recovery, while failure to breach it may trigger profit-taking and a pullback.
Synopsis
Sensex Today | Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates: The benchmark Nifty extended its rebound on expiry day, supported by a sharp decline in India VIX and Brent crude prices falling below the $100-a-barrel mark. Investors now await the RBI’s policy decision, while continued weakness in the rupee remained a key overhang. The currency fell 27 paise to 96.56 against the dollar.
Indian equities extended their recovery on Tuesday, supported by firm global cues, positive business updates from select companies and continued positioning ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy decision.
The Nifty 50 closed at 22,714.80, up 195.05 points, or 0.71%. Technically, the index remains constructive as long as it holds above 22,600, according to Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities. He sees 22,850 as the immediate resistance level. A sustained move above this level could extend the recovery, while failure to breach it may trigger profit-taking and a pullback.
