Ola Electric Mobility is looking to raise fresh capital, just three months after raising Rs 780 crore through a qualified institutional placement, according to a disclosure sourced from its stock exchange filing. The fresh fundraise comes as the electric two-wheeler maker faces pressure on multiple fronts, including falling market share, mounting customer complaints and a declining share price and market capitalisation. The company has scheduled a board meeting on September 5, 2026, to consider and approve a proposal to raise funds through the issuance of equity shares or other eligible securities. According to the regulatory filing, the proposed fundraise could be undertaken through multiple routes, including a private placement, QIP, preferential issue or any other permissible method, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. Importantly, Ola Electric has not disclosed the size of the proposed fundraise. The development comes shortly after the company raised Rs 780 crore through a QIP in June. Ola allotted around 21.76 crore shares at Rs 35.86 each to qualified institutional buyers. The fresh capital push comes at a challenging phase for Ola Electric, as it works to improve its financial performance while scaling its vertically integrated EV and battery manufacturing operations. Meanwhile, The company’s scale fell down although its losses improve in the last quarter In Q1 FY27, Ola Electric’s consolidated revenue from operations fell 45% year-on-year to Rs 455 crore, while its net loss narrowed to Rs 336 crore from Rs 428 crore in the year-ago period. Its vehicle registrations in the month of July were at 13,170 with a market share of 6.8% The company has also been expanding its battery-cell manufacturing capabilities and recently secured a Rs 95.81 crore incentive under the government’s PLI-Auto scheme for FY27.
