EquityList launches AI-native cap table and compliance platform

Equity and shareholder management platform EquityList has launched an AI-native cap table and compliance operating system, aimed at automating equity management and compliance workflows for companies. EquityList said the platform manages more than $20 billion in securities across more than 650 companies and more than 80,000 stakeholders across 16 countries. Its customer base includes Tata Consumer Products, Swiggy, Angel One, Shiprocket, BlackBuck, BlueStone, Flipkart, Rapido, Slice, Sarvam, Tabby.ai and Salla, among others. The new platform uses AI to analyse cap tables, legal documents, filings and equity data. It allows finance, HR and compliance teams to query information in plain language and automate routine tasks. The platform can extract details such as share classes from legal documents, identify compliance gaps and draft equity grants. Each AI-assisted action requires human review and approval before it is reflected in the cap table. According to EquityList, its AI is built natively into the platform with controls over data access and permitted actions. The company also highlighted its SOC 2 Type II certification, ISO 27001 compliance and alignment with GDPR requirements. The launch also includes a self-serve onboarding process that uses AI to parse legal documents, cap tables and financial reports. Customers can review and confirm the extracted information instead of entering the data manually. The company said the underlying cap table data and calculations continue to run on a deterministic engine based on its proprietary data models. AI operates on top of this system to provide analysis and automation. EquityList plans to expand further into compliance automation and corporate governance workflows, with configurable processes that can run with less manual intervention. EquityList raised $2.2 million in seed funding in September 2023 from AngelList India, Hustle Fund, Republic, Unpopular Ventures, Mana Ventures, Riverwalk Holdings and Super Capital, with participation from several angel investors.
