On the first night of Let's Grow 2026, Walmart Marketplace's annual seller summit, Walmart presented its Marketplace Innovation Award to Base, a multichannel ecommerce platform used by more than 35,000 brands in over 180 countries. The award recognized years of work on a problem nearly every Walmart seller runs into: how to keep growing on the channel without hiring a much bigger team to keep up with it. The question in every conversation Over three days at Let's Grow, the Base team talked with more than 500 brands and partners. Nearly all of them asked a version of the same question: how do we keep growing on Walmart without adding headcount or putting the rest of the business at risk? It came from small brands and large enterprise teams alike. Walmart's marketplace has grown past 200,000 sellers, and it holds every one of them to high standards for listing accuracy, on-time shipping, and tracking, measured daily. Those standards are a big part of why shoppers trust Walmart. They also mean that every new order, SKU, and fulfillment method adds work, and sellers who fall behind feel it in their performance metrics. What the award recognized Over the past few years, Walmart has added a steady stream of programs and fulfillment options for its sellers, including Walmart Fulfillment Services, Multichannel Solutions, and Customer Favorites. Each one opens up real growth, and each one also means another system to set up and another integration to build. Base has built support for these programs directly into its platform and keeps doing that work as Walmart adds more. Sellers get the benefit of each new program without taking on the development work themselves. In practice, that support follows the path a seller takes on Walmart. Getting listed. Walmart is particular about how products are presented. Base maps a brand's existing product data to Walmart's requirements. Its Listing Agents (AI tools that automate marketplace listing work) then handle the repetitive category and attribute matching, while AI enrichment drafts Walmart-ready titles and descriptions. Keeping everything in sync. When the same product sells on Walmart, Amazon, and a brand's own site, Base keeps stock in sync across channels, so sellers avoid overselling and the hit to their metrics. Fulfilling orders. Base runs Walmart Fulfillment Services and Multichannel Solutions alongside a seller's own warehouse and 3PLs, all from one platform. Rules decide which fulfillment method each order takes, and Base handles labels and tracking, with no separate systems to juggle. Measuring what's working. Revenue on Walmart doesn't mean much until fees and fulfillment costs come out. Base Analytics shows true profit after commissions, shipping, and COGS, next to every other channel a brand sells on. With Base Analytics AI, teams can ask questions in plain language and get a report back, instead of digging through spreadsheets. Deciding what to sell next. As the business matures, the question becomes what to add. When Walmart's Assortment Growth program flags products shoppers are looking for, Base makes it quick to get them listed. At each stage, work that would normally require a bigger team or additional development is handled by the platform instead. That's what the award recognized: keeping pace with the marketplace so sellers don't have to. What it means for sellers Most shoppers will never think about inventory counts or order routing, and they shouldn't have to. What they notice is whether the thing they ordered was in stock and showed up on time. Getting that right on a marketplace with Walmart's standards takes close coordination between the marketplace, its sellers, and the platforms connecting them. For Base, the award is a proud moment. It's also a commitment to keep building at Walmart's pace, so sellers can say yes to the next program without first figuring out how to staff it. For brands preparing to launch on Walmart, or already selling there and looking to tighten operations or grow across more channels, Base can help. Schedule a demo to start the conversation.
