Halt and Catch Fire, created by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers. The IBM PC was unveiled 45 years ago this week. It revolutionized home computing — the basic architecture is still in use in most PCs — but never made the company much money: It was immediately reverse-engineered by rivals who captured all the value. This 2014 drama about the period, set in a fictional mainframe computer company, “went hugely unnoticed” at the time, but is “compelling and addictive,” The Guardian wrote in 2021. Watch Halt and Catch Fire where you are.
