HYCU extends Microsoft SaaS protection to Azure Dev/Ops HYCU R-Cloud now protects and recovers Azure Dev/Ops data from Repos, Boards, Pipelines, Test Plans, to Organization Settings.Azure Dev/Ops is Microsoft’s public cloud-based platform containing integrated tools for the software development lifecycle: planning work, collaborating on code, building, testing, and deploying applications. Developer teams can use the whole suite or pick individual services and integrate them with existing tools, including Microsoft’s GitHub. It is not limited to Microsoft stacks, and supports many languages, platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS), and deployment targets (Azure, other clouds, or on-premises). There's an on-premises version of Azure Dev/Ops as well. Anant Chintamaneni, HYCU’s Chief Product Officer, said: "As we have protected AI driven workloads such as identity and collaboration, it became clear there was a gap for one of the more popular, heavily relied upon DevOps suites in the market. Customers drove us to address this because of gaps in native options and relationships of all the app components." Microsoft has its own managed protection for Azure DevOps Services which protects the platform against service outages and regional disasters. But it does not restore customer-deleted assets such as individual repositories, work items, attachments, or artifacts after you delete them. If you need that, you must keep your own copies. Step forward HYCU, except that it’s not alone. Several other data protection suppliers protect Azure Dev/Ops: Arcserve, Cloudback, Commvault, GitProtect, Keepit, Rewind, Rubrik and Soldify for example. HYCU says Azure DevOps is the delivery backbone for more than 30,000 companies, including leading financial services, healthcare, automotive, public sector and many of the largest enterprise IT companies across the globe. Teams that rely on it for source control, work tracking, CI/CD, and release management can rely on Microsoft's native recovery tools, which provide a deleted organization or project recoverability for 28 days, a repository for 30 days, and test plans and suites for 14 days. Assets deleted through the destroy parameter bypass the recycle bin entirely and cannot be recovered. Azure DevOps spans five distinct services, Repos, Boards, Pipelines, Test Plans, and Artifacts, each with its own data model. This means, HYCU says, here is no single export or script that can produce a usable copy of a project. Chintamaneni said: ”When teams think about protecting Azure DevOps, they think about repositories. Repositories are the easy part. The real risk lives in the pipeline definitions, the process templates, the wiki that's a Git repo with a service layer bolted on top. Miss any of that and you can restore every file and still hand a team a project they can't work in. That's the gap that we built with HYCU R-Cloud for Azure DevOps to close.” HYCU says R-Cloud for Azure DevOps delivers protection for the complete delivery system, with schema-aware backups, recovery at any level and audit-ready evidence. It has storage-level immutability and backups are stored in customer-owned storage. R-Cloud for Azure DevOps is is available now in the HYCU Marketplace. It joins Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, and GitHub under one HYCU policy framework, managed from a single platform.
