Argentina said it would file criminal charges against an Israeli oil firm operating in the Falkland Islands, Buenos Aires’ latest salvo in its campaign to regain control of the UK-controlled territory. President Javier Milei has stepped up his rhetoric on the islands as he looks to boost his flagging approval ratings ahead of next year’s presidential election. Unpopular competitors are helping his case. “Milei’s saving grace may be his rivals,” The Economist wrote.
