Glastonbury confirms ticket sale dates - and highest ever price - Published After taking a fallow year in 2026, the Glastonbury Festival has confirmed that tickets for next year's event will go on sale in October. Tickets for the weekend will cost £408 including a £5 booking fee per ticket - an increase of £29.50 from 2025. Headliners for the festival, which takes place from 23 to 27 June, have yet to be announced, but rumours are already swirling, with everyone from Harry Styles and Fontaines DC to Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder said to be in the mix. Tickets for the festival typically sell out in less than an hour, with thousands of fans joining online queues to fight for their place. In a post on the official Glastonbury Instagram page, external, organisers said tickets with coach travel would go on sale at 18:00 BST on Thursday, 1 October. General admission tickets go on sale a couple of days later, at 09:00 BST on Sunday 4 October. As part of an ongoing campaign to stop touts, anyone wanting to attend Glastonbury had to be registered in advance. You can check your registration on its website. , external In recent years, the festival has also introduced an automatic queuing system on the day of sale, with fans needing to be online before the start of the sale with a valid registration number. Festival prices rise across the board Glastonbury, which features more than 100 stages, was already the UK's most expensive music festival, but next year's ticket prices are the highest ever - breaking the £400 barrier for the first time. The increase is part of a pattern across the industry. Analysis by BBC News found the cost of attending the UK's major festivals has surged over the past decade - rising above the rate of inflation. Parklife tickets have increased by around £69 (71%) in real terms since 2013 - while Reading and Leeds had a much smaller increase, rising by about £40 (14%) over the same period. In the same period, Glastonbury's ticket prices went up by about £85 - a 30% price hike. The price hikes have multiple causes - from increased energy and infrastructure costs to post-Brexit labour shortages. However, last weekend's Reading and Leeds festival held prices at their 2025 level, with passes costing £325, rising to £361 with early-bird entry. Glastonbury said they would not be commenting on today's announcement but, in 2023, Emily Eavis acknowledged it was a "challenging time" for festival organisers. "We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we're facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, whilst still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of Covid." The festival last took place in 2025, with Olivia Rodrigo, The 1975 and Neil Young topping the bill. Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis recently scotched rumours that Madonna would be among the headliners for next year's event. "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that," she told BBC Radio 4's PM programme. "But we have got three [other] headliners and we're very excited about it - it's all coming together really well," she added. Asked about the possibility of a performance from Taylor Swift, Eavis laughed and said she didn't want to discuss the line-up any more. Related topics - Published30 June 2025 - Published26 June 2025
