America’s future depends on whether we can modernize the institutions responsible for our security, resilience, and prosperity. American Dynamism backs ambitious founders building companies to meet those needs at scale. But capital is only part of what new companies need to win. They also need leaders who understand how these institutions operate, where change gets stuck, and how to turn new technology into lasting national capability. Today, we continue to deliver best in class access to our founders by welcoming Colonel Jeffrey Glover and Greg Barbaccia as Advisors to a16z’s American Dynamism and Growth practices. Col. Jeffrey Glover Col. Glover brings more than two decades of public-safety leadership. As Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, he leads statewide emergency response, criminal investigations, intelligence, aviation, and highway patrol. He previously led the Tempe Police Department and is also a former president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), where he has remained an active leader. He has been a forward-looking leader on technology in public safety, helping officers respond faster, make better decisions, and return home safely while earning the trust of the communities they serve. Col. Glover will advise companies building for public safety and law enforcement, helping founders understand operational needs, build responsibly, and get critical new capabilities into the field. Greg Barbaccia Greg has spent his career at the intersection of technology, national security, and government. Most recently, he served as U.S. Federal Chief Information Officer, overseeing technology strategy, cybersecurity, and digital transformation across the federal government. He also led the General Services Administration’s Technology Transformation Services as Acting Director. Before that, Greg spent more than a decade at Palantir in operations, security, intelligence, and investigations. Earlier, he served as a U.S. Army intelligence analyst and intelligence sergeant, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Greg understands government technology as an operator, executive, and customer. He will advise founders across government technology, cybersecurity, defense, intelligence, and digital services. A coalition of incredible leaders They join an extraordinary group of leaders supporting a16z founders at the intersection of technology and the national interest, including General Bryan Fenton, Special Advisor to American Dynamism, and Anne Neuberger, our General Partner and Head of Global Affairs. And our group of advisors will continue to grow. We are building a top tier team of experienced operators to give our founders and their companies the best possible support as they build the companies that will shape the future. Greg and Col. Glover make that team even stronger. Please join us in welcoming them as advisors to Andreessen Horowitz.
