Lake Erie from Ripley to Fredonia... * Until 1130 PM EDT. * At 959 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Ripley, or 18 nm northeast of Erie, moving east at 45 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.
