Special Weather Statement — Lamar Vicinity/Prowers County; Springfield Vicinity/Baca County Severity: Moderate. Certainty: Observed. At 1142 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles northeast of Two Buttes, or 15 miles northwest of The Saunders Elevator, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Prowers and northeastern Baca Counties.
