A prison memoir of the Egyptian revolution

retained text

Huna by Abdelrahman ElGendy.
Two years after the 2011 Egyptian revolution, then 17-year-old Abdelrahman ElGendy and his father were arrested for recording a protest on the streets of Cairo.
ElGendy’s memoir recounts the six years he spent as a political prisoner, including in Egypt’s notorious “Scorpion Prison” where he turned to writing.
“In ElGendy’s masterful hands,” Kirkus Reviews wrote, this deeply personal account of “an unjust prison sentence” becomes “a heroic clarion call for moral decency and liberation more broadly.” Buy Huna from your local bookstore.
