Special Weather Statement — Central Brewster County; Lower Brewster County Severity: Moderate. Certainty: Observed. At 922 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 30 miles west of Persimmon Gap to 25 miles north of Terlingua to 7 miles north of Lajitas. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Study Butte, Persimmon Gap, Terlingua, Terlingua Ranch Airport, Terlingua Ranch Lodge, Santiago Peak, Elephant Mountain, and Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area.
