Listen to this article in summarized format At the ET Alpha Wealth Summit 2.0 on October 8 in Mumbai, high-value investors, single- and multi-family offices, founders, promoters and market titans are set to bring together the voices shaping market narratives and capital flows. The keynote address on ‘the macro manifesto’ will offer insights into the new world order, as well as help decode the re-routing of global smart money. Is capital allocation following the new map? Instead of simply following historical growth patterns, global investors are increasingly examining where infrastructure, energy, technology, manufacturing capacity, and financial influence are likely to concentrate. Capital allocation is becoming more regional and thematic. India, Southeast Asia, the Gulf economies, North America, and selected parts of Europe are attracting attention for different reasons, following the conflict in the Middle East, with factors ranging from manufacturing expansion and demographics to energy resources and infrastructure investment. At the same time, investors are reassessing traditional assumptions about China, developed-market debt, commodity security, and the role of the US dollar. Hard assets, digital infrastructure and strategic resources The re-routing of capital is also visible in the assets attracting investment. Physical infrastructure such as electricity grids, data centres, ports and logistics networks have gained strategic importance amid the AI boom, as economies invest in energy security and digital capacity. Meanwhile, commodities are regaining prominence within macroeconomic thinking. Copper, uranium, natural gas, oil, and critical minerals are linked not only to economic activity but also to electrification, defence, artificial intelligence, and industrial policy. Digital assets and alternative financial infrastructure represent another evolving frontier, although their role remains subject to regulation, adoption, liquidity, and substantial volatility. The emerging world order The emerging world order is unlikely to produce a single replacement for the previous system overnight. Instead, the global economy may become more multipolar, with overlapping centres of capital, production, technology, and trade. For investors, the central macro question is no longer simply where global growth is happening, but instead focus grows on how capital is being redirected, and how evolving investment trends could shape portfolios, as well as broader market narratives. Therefore, the next investment cycle may be defined less by one dominant narrative and more by a mosaic of regional opportunities, strategic industries, and competing financial systems. Understanding that re-routing, and not predicting every turn, is becoming central to navigating the new macro landscape.
