CureMeAbroad, a global healthcare platform that helps patients discover, verify and book treatments at vetted hospitals abroad, has raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by healthcare-focused venture capital fund SteerX Ventures. Existing investor AIRA also participated in the round. Earlier in April this year, the Pune-based startup raised $600K from Roman Saini, Himanshu Ratnoo, Kunal Gupta, Devaiah Bopanna, Vikrant Potnis and AIRA. The fresh capital will be used to expand its accredited hospital network, enter new patient source markets, strengthen its AI-powered technology and build its operations and technology teams. CureMeAbroad also plans to expand into non-elective specialties such as orthopaedics and oncology and explore physical experience centres in key international markets. Founded in June 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad is a healthcare-tech platform that helps international patients discover and compare hospitals, verify healthcare providers, get treatment estimates and book care across destinations. The platform combines healthcare discovery, treatment planning, pricing transparency and patient assistance. It currently attracts more than 22,500 visitors a month and has a hospital network across six countries. According to CureMeAbroad, the startup is targeting $100 million in annual patient treatment bookings by FY2028, compared with its current $4.8 million run rate. Its key patient source markets include the US, UK, Australia and Canada. The company competes with platforms such as Bookimed, PlacidWay, The Medical Tourism Company and Medical Departures. Vaidam Health is another Indian medical tourism platform that helps international patients find hospitals and treatment options. CureMeAbroad has also received Medical Travel Facilitator Certification from Global Healthcare Accreditation, with its network spanning more than 400 accredited hospitals across six countries, according to GHA.
