Off the Wire Press Releases Aug. 21, 2026 — On June 2, 2026, the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching, Germany, hosted the TPC26 Satellite Event, bringing the Trillion Parameter Consortium (TPC) annual conference closer to the European AI for science community. The event gave researchers, practitioners, industry representatives and research organizations from across Europe the opportunity to engage with the global TPC community without traveling to the conference in Baltimore. The hybrid program featured recorded keynote presentations from Baltimore, including the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, Argonne National Laboratory and RIKEN, together with live contributions from Europe and beyond. Highlights included a keynote by Prof. Dieter Kranzlmüller from LRZ, which was streamed live to the main TPC26 conference, as well as presentations from TPC members at LRZ and online talks from C-DAC in India and NumPEX in France. EuroTPC contributed to the live program with a presentation entitled EuroTPC: A Coordinated European Voice in TPC, delivered by Javier Aula-Blasco of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. The talk introduced the EuroTPC initiative to the wider TPC community and highlighted Europe’s commitment to open, collaborative AI for science. The event strengthened connections between European and international partners, encouraged new opportunities for collaboration and reinforced Europe’s role within the global AI for science ecosystem.
