Startups German Startup’s Rocket Deploys Satellites in a First for Europe An Isar Aerospace rocket blasted off from a launchpad in Norway and delivered a payload of satellites into orbit, marking a key step in Europe’s efforts to compete with US companies for commercial space missions. The German startup’s Spectrum rocket lifted from the Andøya Spaceport in Norway on Saturday and, after about four minutes, became the first private space mission to reach orbit from continental Europe. It was Isar’s second launch attempt after multiple delays this year due to weather, technical issues and disruption by a rogue boat.
