NSE IPO latest news: After SEBI's nod for the NSE IPO, the market is busy estimating the price band, opening date, and other details. Since the lock-in period for pre-IPO investors began, various agencies have reported on the expected NSE IPO price band and the expected opening date. Reuters has reported that the NSE IPO price band is expected to be ₹1700 to ₹1785, whereas Bloomberg has reported it to be around ₹1785. According to market observers, NSE shares are available at a premium of ₹255, down ₹18 from yesterday's GMP of ₹273. Market observers maintained that the NSE IPO GMP has dipped from ₹285 to ₹255 over the last two days, which can be attributed to a weak secondary market mood and the start of the lock-in period for pre-IPO investors. Quoting an anonymous source, Reuters has reported that the NSE is likely to price its initial public offering at 1,700 to 1,785 rupees per share. However, Bloomberg has reported that the NSE IPO price band is likely to be around ₹1785. Speaking on the possible NSE IPO price band after the beginning of the lock-in period for pre-IPO investors, Arun Kejriwal, Founder of Kejriwal Research and Investment Services, said, "The NSE shares ended at ₹2,050 on 7th September, which is close to its fair value. As the lock-in period began on Tuesday, pre-IPO investors must wait 6 months to sell their NSE shares. The NSE IPO GMP on 7th September was around ₹300 per share. So, the upper NSE IPO price band can't be above ₹1,750 ( ₹2,050 - ₹300 = ₹1,750). In other words, the NSE IPO price band would be below ₹1750 per equity share." The PTI has reported, quoting an anonymous source, that NSE is likely to open for public subscription on September 18 and list on September 25. The price band for the IPO is expected to be announced on September 15, followed by the anchor book on September 17. Bank of Baroda has proposed to divest up to 76.90 lakh equity shares, representing 35% of its shareholding in the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), through an Offer for Sale (OFS) as part of the exchange's proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO). In an exchange filing on Tuesday, September 8, the Bank of Baroda said the proposed stake sale is subject to all applicable regulatory approvals. "We advise that the Bank of Baroda is proposing to divest upto 76,90,375 equity shares, being equivalent to 35% of the shares held by the Bank in National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), by way of Offer for Sale through Initial Public Offering, subject to all regulatory approvals," the bank said in its filing on Tuesday. Post-listing NSE will be top 10 among India's largest companies in terms of market cap, which will garner huge interest from the market. At an expected price-to-earnings valuation of around 35 times, the IPO would provide investors with headroom (for gains) after listing. Deven Choksey, managing director of fund and wealth manager at DRChoksey FinServ told Reuters In informal meetings, large prospective investors, including Indian mutual funds, indicated they would be comfortable buying shares at around 1,800 rupees apiece, the sources said, adding that the formal price band is likely to be set near that level. At that price, NSE will be valued at $47 billion. Rival BSE has seen its shares surge 28-fold since going public in 2017. Among the key selling shareholders, State Bank of India is set to offload up to 24.8 million shares, while MS Strategic (Mauritius) Limited will sell up to 16 million shares. Other major shareholders participating in the OFS include Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Aranda Investments (Mauritius) Pte Ltd, Bank of Baroda, Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd, General Insurance Corporation of India, The New India Assurance Company, National Insurance Company and United India Insurance Company, according to a PTI report. According to a PTI report, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) IPO may see its offer for sale (OFS) size reduced to 5.2-5.5 per cent from the 6 per cent planned earlier, as some shareholders have opted out of the sale, people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday. NSE may scale back the stake offered in its IPO to around 5.5% of its total equity capital, from the 6% planned earlier, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter. In an exchange filing, The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. said it proposes to divest 1.05 crore equity shares of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSEIL). The proposed sale represents 29.83% of the insurer’s current shareholding in NSEIL. The transaction will be carried out through an Offer for Sale (OFS) as part of NSE’s proposed initial public offering (IPO), subject to receiving all necessary regulatory approvals. The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is likely to price its much-awaited initial public offering (IPO) at ₹1,700-1,785 per share, according to a Reuters report citing a source familiar with the matter. At the upper end of the proposed price band, the IPO would value NSE at around ₹4.4 lakh crore ($46.41 billion), placing it among India’s largest companies by market capitalisation. National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. has lowered the price range for its long-awaited IPO and may shrink the stake on sale, according to people familiar with the matter, leaving the deal poised to fall short of becoming India’s biggest-ever listing. — Bloomberg The exchange is expected to begin book-building on Sept. 11, with the price band likely to be announced on Sept. 15, the sources said. They declined to be identified because they were not authorised to speak to the media. — Reuters National Stock Exchange is targeting a listing in the week starting September 21, three sources familiar with the matter said, after receiving long-awaited regulatory approval for its initial public offering on Friday. According to market observers, NSE shares are available at a premium of ₹255 in the grey market today, down ₹18 from yesterday's ₹273 NSE IPO GMP. However, the NSE IPO is still ₹55 above the NSE IPO GMP, even after the NSE received SEBI's nod for its public issue launch. If we go by media reports, the NSE IPO price band is expected to be around ₹1700 to ₹1785. Then we can assume that the grey market reflects around 14% to 15% listing gain from the upcoming IPO. Four listed companies — State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda (BoB), The New India Assurance Company, and General Insurance Corporation of India — have offered their shares in the upcoming IPO. Reuters had reported last week that the exchange is targeting a listing in the week starting September 21. Bloomberg News had reported the price band earlier on Tuesday. NSE may reduce the stake being offered to about 5.5% of total equity capital from the originally planned 6%, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources. Reuters could not immediately verify this. The long-awaited IPO could rank among India's biggest-ever, alongside billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Jio Platforms. NSE dominates India's equity derivatives market and is the world's most-active derivatives exchange by contracts traded. — Reuters National Stock Exchange of India is likely to price its initial public offering at 1,700 to 1,785 rupees per share, a source aware of the matter said on Tuesday. At the upper end of the price band, NSE would be valued at 4.4 trillion rupees ($46.41 billion), making it one of India's biggest companies by market capitalisation. — Reuter The issue, which could raise around ₹30,000 crore, is set to surpass Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,870-crore offering in 2024 to become India's largest IPO, the sources told PTI. NSE is India's largest stock exchange by trading activity and operates the benchmark Nifty 50 index. It is also the world's most active derivatives exchange by number of contracts traded. The proposed timeline has so been fixed to ensure that NSE shares debut before the 16-day lunar period 'Pitru Paksha' begins on September 26, they said. The issue, which could raise around ₹30,000 crore, is set to surpass Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,870-crore offering in 2024 to become India's largest IPO, the sources said. The IPO will comprise an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 148.9 million equity shares of face value ₹1 each, representing nearly 6 per cent of NSE's paid-up equity capital. — PTI The NSE IPO price band is expected to be announced on September 15, followed by the anchor book on September 17.
