Bengaluru-based TILT, the impact-first investment platform of The/Nudge Foundation, has launched a Rs 250 crore venture fund to back early-stage businesses serving India’s Next Billion.
The fund will mainly invest from Seed to Series A, with cheque sizes ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 16 crore.
TILT will invest in businesses using science and technology across agriculture, climate resilience, informal work, employment, MSMEs, employability, financial inclusion, market access and AI-led livelihood solutions.
The fund aims to provide patient capital to businesses that may require more time to build products, distribution and sustainable business models. Along with funding, TILT will support portfolio companies through research, market development, partnerships and ecosystem infrastructure.
The fund is backed by the Livelihood Impact Fund, along with entrepreneurs, investors and philanthropists including Deep Kalra, Amit Gupta, Hari Menon, Binny Bansal, Raj & Indra Nooyi Family Office and Vidit Aatrey.
TILT was founded by Richa Singh and Atul Satija and builds on The/Nudge Foundation’s eight-year work with social enterprises.
The/Nudge has supported more than 190 social enterprises and deployed around Rs 180 crore in grants. TILT plans to back 150 startups over the next 15 years and aims to impact 100 million lives through its investments and ecosystem work.
